Outreach has grown significantly in the last three years and is in need of a leader that can help the organization strengthen their operations, governance, fund-raising as well as supporting the staff and volunteers with the ever-increasing demand in the communities we serve for support for both sex workers and people experiencing homelessness. Someone that will advocate for, amplify, and deliver programs for people engaged in the sex industry, and those identifying as female and at risk of violence and vulnerability, in the Okanagan. Outreach is looking for an energetic, courageous, and collaborative individual. Outreach is seeking an Executive Director to carry on the incredible work of the founder and retiring Executive Director. Outreach encapsulates the passion that Angie brings to the community in making sure that all people who identify as women who have lived experience with the sex industry, along with other intersecting vulnerabilities, have access to the services and support they require in the communities in which we operate in the Okanagan. Outreach, where the hope is Helping Out People Exploited. When she and her husband moved to Kelowna in 2008, Angie took the time to be with her community and see where the gaps were in supporting sex-trade workers and marginalized women. Through her journey in recovery, she decided right away on the importance of supporting vulnerable and exploited women. In her time living on the street, Angie also entered sex work to support herself. Outreach exists due to the hard work and dedication of the organization’s founder, Angie Lohr a woman with a thriving career in the print industry, whose unlikely journey led to the hardship of addiction and homelessness. Outreach supports sex-trade workers and marginalized women, who may experience vulnerability on a journey to realizing their potential of living a safe and healthy life.
